How come my computer will not go past the bios screen after I added new hard drives?
by hiteshp126 on December 21, 2010Q: I have a computer for survalance system and I have added a extra 1.5 tb external hard drive. Every time when you restart a computer it gets stuck in a screen where you press for bios and it would not let you go in bios or it will not go any forward with window load unless you take that external hard drive out and shut computer off and restart it. any solution for this?

If you plug in the External HDD when the computer is already powered on what happens?
It may need to install certain drivers. How old is your PC? IT may not be compatible. If it is new try going to the manufacturers size and see if there are any device drivers for the external drive.

Can you provide a make and model for both the computer and the external drive?
Also, what version of windows (or other OS) are you running?
