How do I burn HD video to DVD?
by bobfishbw on May 12, 2011Q: I’ve been shooting video in HD. I am trying to find a format to burn the videos to a DVD. I am running out of luck. Is it my software? What format is best for recording onto DVD? Any suggestions about this will help.
First off, If you want to burn HD video to a DVD disk so that it can be played in a DVD Player, you can’t without down-converting the video and losing your HD quality.
I’m not sure what software you’re using for video conversion and burning, but if you’re looking for something new, a popular option is Nero: http://www.nero.com/enu/nero10-overview.html
They have a free trial so you can see if that meets your needs.

As Mark mentioned above not sure why you want to downgrade the quality of a movie. But if you want to the software that works best, from what I have found, is

With CloneDVD and AnyDVDHD it will allow you to copy a Blueray or HD DVD to a DVD, file for a portable device, there are many options.
As well you can remove all the menus, previews, if a movie has multiple angles you can also remove that, or you can remove subtitles and alternate language.
All these options will give the DVD a higher quality and Higher quality Audio as well.
I have been using this to convert my movies I own to mobile platform to view on my mobile devices.
