Why is iTunes not picking up my podcast?
by Kyn on July 19, 2011Q: Why is iTunes not picking up my podcast?
Feedburner tells me in PodMedic that enclosures are not being created because files are not recognised as audio/mpeg. I asked Hostmonster about this and they ran a test, and concluded the opposite: that the server is in fact returning the appropriate status.
My website is http://kidyounotpodcast.com

My email is kidyounotpodcast@gmail.com
More details:
Feedburner PodMedic says:
Content Type reported: text/html; charset=UTF-8
Media enclosure not created because: The content type returned from your host server was a text type, not a binary media type. Podcast content should always return a binary media type, such as audio/mpeg for audio, or video/mpeg for video.
Hostmonster says:
curl is a tool that allows me to send requests to the server as if I were a browser, and see what goes on behind the scenes. The -IL uses the HEAD request to gather only the headers (and follow redirects). The curl output is in the first block. You can see that the Content-Type is being returned as audio/mpeg, it’s returning the appropriate status, and the correct content-length. Everything looks good there.
Thank you for your help!
