Is a 300w power supply enough to run a card that requires 250w?
by qwerty316 on May 29, 2012Q: I have an HP500B MT computer and am going to get a PCI vid card, NVidia Geforce 8400 GS. I have a 300w PSU and card reqs are 250w, so I assume this is okay. But wondering if the power supply connections for my computer will hook up without adapters, and that my comps able to handle it. Thanks.

It may work, and should be a connector on the power supply. But if it doesn’t work you may experience a blue screen or power outages on your PC.
I might suggest looking into a 500w power supply. Companies like Cosair or cooler master make reliable power supplies.
