How can I upgrade my hard drive without causing problems with my applications that I have installed?
by alejandro741 on January 10, 2013Q: I have an Acer Aspire 5252-V305
3gb DDR3 – 320gb HDD
The hardrive is running out of space(10% left) and I already have a 1TB external which I use for overspill.
My question is, is it worth tweeking this laptop or should I just get a newer, better model ?
Trouble is, I have work software (Quick Books) would it be easy to transfer over without any issues or functionality problems?
The computer is ussed maily for streaming Netflix ( which I have been having streaming quality issues recently perhaps due to the laptops performace) and mostly Quickbooks and some mild web surfing.
Any help / opinions would be great.

I suggest some spring cleaning of your hard drive.
Uninstall any software you don’t use from Control Panel>Programs
If you have no idea what a program does, do a google search to see if it’s important.
After that, use http://windirstat.info/ to see what’s taking up a lot of space on your harddrive and find other junk you can delete.
You can also try out ccleaner http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner which is a great program for deleting old temp files.
