How come my iPad lets me copy some text on websites but not other text?

Q: 6.0.1 iOS version. iPad 4

WHY does the iPad choose what you can and cannot copy on some websites. Example: I wanted to copy an item description on eBay to do some research. I get a blue box flying up out of nowhere that decides what I’m going to copy. Try shortening it? Not happening. It’s all or nothing. Color me bitchy, but I paid $$$ for the thing, and I don’t like it telling me what I can and cannot do. Is it some kind of programming in the website causing this? I’ve discovered iPad is not all its cracked up to be due to lack of support on many sites. Fun exercise. Go to the website for Dawn dish liquid and try to look at their FAQ on the product. ( Don’t judge, I wanna know why that crap makes plastic taste like Dawn). I swear it was funny as hell! The first page of FAQ was doing push-ups online! I could see the browser was still downloading something, God only knows what, and I swear the entire page was opening and closing from top to bottom rapidly the whole time. Try to advance to next page of FAQ? Reloads same first page with more push-ups ! It’s funny enough to film for YouTube I swear! Yeah, I digressed. Sue me. Ya know ya got a kick outta the story!

Generally this comes down to the web browser you’re using as well as how good the mobile support is on the website.

Since you can’t change anything about the website, try a different browser. Google Chrome is available for iPad in the App Store.
