How can a remote employee receive calls?
by Helniev on February 26, 2013Q: I work for a consumer report/ call center company and they asked me to help find and recruit certain types of professionals, which in this area is almost impossible.
I was wondering what it would take (technology wise) for that person to receive phone calls at their house. We use Aspect phones and we are already set-up with Citrix to access files and software remotely.

VoIP (Voice over IP) is the best way for remote users to receiving phone calls. It will either require a physical phone that plugs into the internet connection or software on a computer that will also need a mic/headphone combo.
Redgap is one VoIP solution that has been pretty successful in my experience. There are many companies these days push out VoIP though.
Another solution would be some form of call forwarding.
