Should I go with an Asus or an Alienware laptop for gaming?

by on June 18, 2013

Q: g’day i am looking to upgrade my laptop to new a new gaming one. But seeing though that there is so many to choose from now, i would like a little bit of help (as i am computer illiterate LOL)

i am currently looking at the Alienware 17mx, the asus G75, the msi GE70/GT70 and also a new brand on the market the Venom blackbook 17 B0218.

Now i do understand u get what you pay for, but that is where i am getting a little bit lost, i like the alienware because of the look and how u can customize it…
the asus because that is what i am currently on, even though it is 4 years old she is still going on strong,
the msi, just because to me that is the cheaper option but would that get me through the long run?
And now this Venom brand, i don’t know much about it, and i think that’s what i am afraid of.

Also i would be buying 2, as my girlfriend has just found her knack for online gaming and would like to join me haha!!

thanks for your help cheers!!

Is there anyway for me to figure out how much my Alienware computer is worth?

by on December 16, 2010

Q: I was wondering if someone could give me an idea or point me in the right direction of who to ask about this. I am trying find out how much my Alienware Aurora desktop computer is worth. It has Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz 3.19 GHz and 1.00 of RAM. It also has Windows [XP] Home Edition 2002. I know this computer was made by Alienware and not by Dell but I’m unsure when it was made? Any info would be great, thanks guys.

Can I upgrade the video card on a new alienware laptop?

by on June 4, 2010

Q: I am thinking of buying a laptop from alienware with a budget of $2400.00. I have a few questions or concerns first.

Can I upgrade the video card in the future? (m17x) and also would the IntelĀ® Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache) work just fine for gaming or do I have to get the next one up IntelĀ® Core i7 620M 2.66 GHz (3.33GHz Turbo Mode, 4MB Cache)?

Is there anything else I should think about since I will be using this laptop for video games?
