Can someone get into my Yahoo mail account using their blackberry?

by on June 9, 2010

Q: I have a Blackberry. Someone I’ve been seeing grabbed mine. . The dude also has a Blackberry. He recently picked up mine and starting fiddling with it. I thought nothing of it.

Last night I noticed that in the applications menu, under “tools” my email password was disabled. I reset the password thingy to password enabled. Now it’s disabled again.

Can another Blackberry user get into my Yahoo account from his own device if that password is disabled?

The Blackberry 8830 cannot act as a WiFi hot spot

by on April 25, 2010

Q: Is there anyway to connect my Blackberry 8830 to my IPod Touch and access the Internet?

A: Some phones have the ability to act as a WiFi hot spot. One example would be the Palm Pre on the Verizon network (I don’t believe it can on the Sprint network though). Unfortunately the Blackberry 8830 is not one of those phones. Down the road I hope we see a lot more phones that have this ability because as we get more and more devices it doesn’t seem right to have to keep paying for an Internet connection with each device.

Can I connect my iPod touch to my blackberry to get wireless access?

by on March 13, 2010

Q: I just bought an iPod Touch G-3 to replace my old iPod. It is great that I have wifi as long as I am in an area that has free wifi. The reason I did not get an iPhone is because my company has given me a Blackberry 8830 and pays the monthly fee.

It would be really cool if I could connect my Blackberry to my iPod Touch and access the Internet. Is there a way to do this?

How come Hotmail no longer stays in sync with my Blackberry and iPhone?

by on April 29, 2009

Q: Hotmail seemed to have quit working properly on my blackberry a few months back and now on my new iPhone. The problem is that if I read or delete a message from my handheld it is not passed back to the mail server.

Formerly, in the Blackberry mail interface you could choose a check box for something like “synch changes from my handheld to server”. Well hotmail lost that check box, but yahoo, gmail, etc retained it.

Is there a known way to get the changes applied from handheld to mail server?

Laptop Alternative For Posting To Blogs While On The Road

by on February 15, 2008

Q: I just bought a great new Dell Inspiron S531running Windows Vista and I love it. My issue is that I will be traveling around the country for a few months and still need to be able to update my blog. Bringing my desktop computer into Starbucks is not possible but at the same time since my desktop is so new I do not want to spend the money on getting a laptop. What other alternatives are there out there for us bloggers to be able to post while on the road?

A: I think that the real solution for you is a smart phone and we did a recent answer titled Handheld Or Smart Phone With Internet Browsing Ability that you will want to read after reading this. The reason it is not a complete answer to your question is that we were looking for solutions related to browsing internet not doing a lot of typing. Read the rest of this entry »
