Is there anyway to make my razer megalodon gaming headset compatible with my PS3?

by on March 8, 2013

Q: Hi, I just bought a razer megalodon(USB). I really like the headset, but there is one problem. It isn’t compatible with my PS3. Are there any cables that maybe are able to transform the signal to usb?

How do I get my work headset to stay on so I can listen to youtube?

by on August 5, 2012

Q: I work at a hospital call center and we use a software called ancom. This software includes a headset that “turns on” when a caller calls in (by turn on I mean you can hear the caller and you can also hear a youtube clip if desired), however when nobody calls, you cant hear anything (it turns off). some of our computers have the ability to be “on” all the time. My question is: how do I get all the computers to be “on” all the time so we can listen to youtube

How come I cannot get audio to come out of the audio jacks?

by on September 10, 2011

Q: I can see the audio signal in the Digital Output Device and it has a green check mark that says working, but I can’t get any audio out from the output jacks, either on speakers or headphones. The Speakers say not plugged in even though they are and they were working fine earlier.

Removing the plastic from copper wire to fix a headset

by on June 30, 2009

Q: I am trying to fix my Koss SB45 headset. I’ve managed to pull it apart and guessed that the problem was in the copper wire. I cut it apart and would to try to connect it at two different positions.

Since I’m not really that into electric stuff I just tried to connect them by just touching each other. But then I saw that there was some kind of Fiber glass inside the cable.

Then my question is, how do I connect these? Does the fiber glass have to touch the other fiber glass? And if the information is necessary there are three different cables, one blue, orange and red.

A:  I don’t think it is fiber glass that you are seeing. It should be copper wire with a plastic covering over it. You can use wire cutters to carefully cut the plastic off, a raiser, exacto knife, or as you followed up with, sandpaper. I must say sandpaper is a unique choice but anything to remove the plastic will allow you to start doing your testing.
