How do I get the toolbar menu back that has File, View, etc on it?

by on February 13, 2010

Q: Is there a toolbar menu? It’s my fault but yesterday I was using that toolbar and I took the check from beside it and I don’t know how to get it back. It’s the one that says File, View, Insert then a couple more things I can’t remember then Help on the end, Can you tell me how to find it?

How come my toolbar in IE7 is hidden?

by on August 14, 2009

Q: I am using Windows XP IE7. I use Bitdefender and it ran updates last night. Now my IE7 toolbar is hidden. I tried ALT and it didn’t work. Neither did F11. I can’t use the TOOL button which is suggested at times, because it is on the toolbar that I cannot see. I don’t have the gold star nor anything else showing.

How come I keep getting “Delayed Write Failed” at the bottom of my toolbar?

by on July 20, 2009

Q: I keep getting a message in my bottom toolbar that says “Delayed Write Failed”. It also says certain files were not saved and data was lost. I cannot figure out how to fix this and it seems like it is causing my computer to freeze up. I have Windows XP home edition and an HP computer. Is there some kind of fix for this problem that I can download?

Picture Filename Not Showing Below Icon

by on March 24, 2008

Q: I am helping a friend clean up her picture files on her Windows XP computer and so far it is looking good. We do have an issue though where when we are looking at the folders the names of the folders no longer appear below the folder. If we mouse over the folder we can see the name but that is the only way we can see it. How can we make the names of the folders appear below the folders again?

A: More than likely you are viewing these pictures in the thumbnail view. To fix this select a different view from thumbnail (see directions below on how to change your view). Then press the Shift key while clicking Thumbnails and that should make the file names reappear.

The steps below should assist you in changing the view of a folder in Windows XP:

1. Open the folder containing the files that you want to change the view for.

2. Select View from the toolbar and when that menu expands you will see the options to view that folder such as, thumbnails, tiles, icons, list, and details.

You just need to select another view and it will apply the setting to the files in that folder.
