How come I cannot play WMA files when I copy them to my desktop?

by on May 29, 2011

Q: Using XP sp3 on an older system, the issue I am having is related to copying audio files. Those files are on a disk and can play from the disk using WMA. The problem comes when I drag and drop or copy and paste to either a folder or onto the desktop. Although an ICON is created saying CDA , the only thing that is their is the ICON itself and no file attached to it. The size of the ICON only is displayed and no music file. Any suggestions?
